Lea H. Fowler, DMD
A lifetime resident of Lawrenceburg, KY, Dr. Fowler earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1996, where she graduated with High Distinction. She then established her general practice in Lawrenceburg, where she has been serving patients and improving smiles for an impressive twenty years. Additionally, she serves as a community-based faculty member at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, an advisory board member for Hospice of the Bluegrass, and both a member and board vice chairperson for Avenues for Women.
One of Dr. Fowler’s favorite things to do concerning her work is being able to take unhealthy mouths and make them healthy again through her work. She loves learning about her patients and caring for them, as well as being able to see the changes in their demeanor when she helps them develop a beautiful smile at last.
Dr. Fowler has one daughter, Lauren, who is a junior at the University of Kentucky, and one son, Drew, who is a senior at Anderson County High School, where she attended herself. When she isn’t busy at the office, she enjoys reading, doing needlepoint, and shopping.

Sarah Makowski, RDH
Originally born in Lexington, Sarah currently lives in Lawrenceburg, KY, where she has resided for the past seven years, working for Dr. Fowler. She graduated from Fern Creek High School in 2004 and then went on to attend the University of Louisville, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. She is also licensed to provide local anesthesia. As a dental hygienist, Sarah works with the dentists to provide excellent oral hygiene care, periodontal exams, and patient education concerning proper tooth and gum care and different ways to prevent oral diseases.
Sarah loves how caring and compassionate the women she works with are, as well as how much the entire team cares about patients and strives to put them first. She enjoys getting to know people and creating a relationship with her patients. She’s great at helping them feel as comfortable as possible!
Sarah is married, and she has a 5½ year old son named Walter and a 1 year old son named Harlan. When she isn’t at the office, she loves reading, spending time with family and friends, camping, being outdoors, traveling and seeing new places, and making memories. She also works with middle school and high school students as a youth leader at Ninevah Christian Church.
Delores Barnett (DJ), RDH
A current resident of Lawrenceburg, KY, DJ has spent an impressive 31 years in the dental profession, joining this practice in 1997. She has two associate’s degrees (one in arts and humanities and one in dental hygiene), and she is certified to provide anesthesia. She helps patients by providing routine cleanings, cancer screen exams, comprehensive exams, oral hygiene instruction, and scaling and root planing. Overall, she works hard to promote good dental health!
DJ loves working with everyone in the office and seeing how much all of them give 100% to their work and their patients. The Christian environment is also very important to her. She enjoys working closely with people and learning new things every day.
DJ and her husband Larry have been married for 30 years, and they have one son, Alex. Her hobbies include traveling, exercising, being outdoors, and collecting pottery.
Katelyn Wells – Registered Dental Hygienist
Katelyn joined our office in the summer of 2015. As one of our hygienists, she’s dedicated to helping patients improve their health through a range of preventive and therapeutic treatments, from comprehensive cleanings to oral cancer screenings and scaling and root planing.
What she loves most about working with us is our integrity and our complete dedication to giving patients the best care. She also enjoys the mutual respect and camaraderie shared by everyone in the office.
Katelyn is originally from Lawrenceburg, KY. She’s married, and when she’s not helping us create healthier smiles, she enjoys cooking, exercising, shopping, and decorating.
Amy Gritton, Dental Hygienist
20 years in dentistry, started at this practice in January, 2018. Has been with Dr. Collins for 18 years.
Best thing about my job: my patients! New ones and established ones! I enjoy educating my patients about their dental health.
High School: Franklin County, graduated 1995
College: Western Kentucky University, graduated 1995, Bachelor of Science degree. I work with our doctors to customize each patient’s treatment plan to achieve and maintain a healthy smile.
Family: Married in 2002 to Ashley Gritton. We have one son, Adam; 2 dogs, Anakin and Miguel.
Hobbies/Interests: Reading, listening to music, watching my son play sports, spending time with family and friends. I attend Capital City Christian Church
One interesting thing about me: I love animals. I volunteer and support the L.I.F.E. House for animals in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is a no-kill shelter/adoption facility for cats and dogs.
Ashley Moore, Insurance Coordinator
Ashley is our Insurance Coordinator for the past year after managing our office for 15 years. In her position, she has the privilege of meeting people from all over our community and beyond.
She previously earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She is always looking for ways to improve herself and our office procedures.
Ashley is married and has one son and one daughter. She enjoys reading, writing, crafts, and spending time with her family.
Stephanie Likins, Dental Assistant
Stephanie has been with us for nine years. As a dental assistant, she enjoys working with our dentists and building personal relationships with our patients.
She previously studied at the Academy of Dental Assisting.
Stephanie and her husband have a dog and enjoy camping, going to the lake, and spending time with family and friends.
Martha Beaven, Administrative Assistant
Martha is originally from Lebanon, and attended Marion County High School and St. Catherine College and BCTC. She has been with our practice for about a year. As one of our valuable administrative assistants, Martha says the best part of her job is the people. When she’s not busy making things run smoothly at our office, Martha enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family, including her husband, David, and two sons, Matthew, Christopher, and daughter-in-law Nikki.
Emi Cooper, Administrative Assistant
Emi describes herself as from Anderson County by way of Richmond, KY. With a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry and Worship Arts from Asbury University, Emi puts her passion for working with people to good use as one of our administrative assistants. Married almost two years to her husband, Will, Emi’s interests outside dentistry include worship ministry at Ninevah Christian Church, as well as cooking, reading, and traveling.
Anna Mattingly, Dental Assistant
Anna has three years’ experience in dentistry. Originally from Lawrenceburg, she graduated from the Institute of Dental Technology with her certificate in dental assisting. Anna has significant experience working in orthodontics and with children, which makes her an invaluable member of our dental assisting team. Anna says she loves meeting and developing relationships with our wonderful patients. When she’s not at work, you’ll find Anna spending time with her three sons, playing outside, taking walks, and, like a true Kentuckian, turkey hunting!
